Frequently Asked Questions

Why Open a Checking Account?

Checking accounts are an essential tool for day-to-day banking. These accounts are ideal for depositing your paycheck, paying bills, and shopping online or in-store. They offer budgeting tools, overdraft protection, and account alerts to help you track your spending

*Please refer to the customer overdraft policy for additional details.

Can I Link My Checking Account to My Other Accounts?

You can link your checking account to other Evolve or external bank accounts. Doing this allows you to transfer money between the two accounts via your computer or a mobile banking app. For example, if a transaction might cause your personal checking account to overdraw, you can transfer the funds to cover the transaction from your savings account.

How Long Does It Take to Receive My Debit Card and Online Login Credentials?

You will receive your account login details when your account is opened. If approved, debit cards may be provided at account opening or mailed to your current address. If your card is mailed, your PIN will be sent separately for security purposes.

When I Open a Checking Account, Can I Also Open a Savings Account?

Yes, it is possible to open investment or savings accounts at the same time as a checking account, as long as you meet the other eligibility requirements. Be sure to read the terms and conditions of the accounts, such as what sort of initial deposit is required and whether you need to provide notice to withdraw funds from a savings account.

What Documentation Is Required When Opening an Account?

To open an account in person at a branch, you’ll need one form of government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. Additional proof of address documentation will be required if the address differs from what is listed on your government ID.
